Marketing Update - Seminars, KSAT 12 Coverage of Superslow Stars

Dr. Christian was asked by Cat Pollock, 2nd Year Medical Student and VP of the UT Health Science Center Chapter of the American Medical Student Association to be the speaker on 5 Oct 05 at their monthly meeting. Over 100 students heard Dr. Christian speak about the "The 6 Components of Optimal Health and Aging" with emphasis on the Zone Nutrition Program & SuperSlow® Strength Training.

Dr. Christian spoke to employees of the Bexar County Courthouse on 13 Oct 05 as part of their ongoing wellness program for their employees. His topic was "The 6 Components of Optimal Health and Aging" with emphasis on the Zone Nutrition Program and SuperSlow® Strength Training.

Dr. Christian and Dawn Blem were guests at the 19 Oct 05 Tapatio Springs Ladies Luncheon held at the Tapatio Springs Resort Conference Center. Dr. Christian and Dawn are shown with Lois Aaronson, Social Chairman, and Gail Broadhead, both faithful SuperSlow® Members! The organization of Ladies is dedicated to supporting many Charitable and Non-Profit Organizations in the Boerne/Tapatio Springs area. Dr. Christian spoke to the ladies about "The 6 Components of Optimal Health and Aging" with emphasis on the Zone Nutrition Program and SuperSlow® Strength Training.

Our SuperSlow® Stars of the month, Bill and Mary Lee Thorsby will be featured in an upcoming segment on KSAT 12 TV about fighting Diabetes. Nancy Gonzalez, KSAT Anchor and Rey Elizardo, CameraMan filmed the segment on 17 Oct 05 at the SuperSlow® Gym. The segment will run sometime in November and we will send out a special email to let everyone know the date and time.

Misty Bashara, Massage Therapist, Writes about the Benefits of Massage

We are especially pleased to have Misty Bashara as part of Inside Outside Staff. Misty has been in the personal fitness business for over 25 years. Misty has been a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist for almost 18 years. She holds the prestigious gold standard for bodyworkers, the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage Therapy and Bodywork (NCBTMB) credential. She is also certified through the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA) and the Texas Department of Health. We are now offering an inviting menu of Massage Services to sooth those devastated muscles and lessen the tensions brought on by the stresses of life. New Club! The "Row Your Own Weight Club"!! Who is the first?

We now have a New Club for members to aspire to! The "Row Your Own Weight Club"! The requirements are to perform 6 repetitions in good form on the SuperSlow® Compound Row Machine, with a weight equal to or greater than your weight. We now have four members, one male and 3 females. Who are they and Who's next?

Member Spotlight: Susan Blackwood, San Antonio Sports Foundation!

SuperSlow® Member, Susan Blackwood has been the Executive Director of the San Antonio Sports Foundation since 1996. She heard about SuperSlow® from Liz Fritz and Ralph Bender, both longtime supporters of the Sports Foundation. Susan is working hard on SuperSlow® and is hoping to hit the golf ball better! The San Antonio Sports Foundation creates sports opportunities for our community and its youth. Since its inception, the Sports Foundation has dedicated it resources to three main objectives:

To target sports as a growth industry in San Antonio and to solicit sporting events that have a positive effect on the economy while creating national and international exposure;
To act as a catalyst in the development of sports and fitness programs for all ages, with a special emphasis on disadvantaged neighborhood youth;
To support the development and maintenance of safe, high quality athletic facilities.

According to Ralph Bender, member of the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame, "San Antonio and the San Antonio Sports Foundation was and is extremely fortunate to have Susan become the Executive Director of the Foundation. She is probably the best known and most widely respected Executive Director of any Sports Foundation in the United States." Susan we Salute You!

Angela Christian, Premiers in Broadway Musical "The Woman In White"

Angela Christian, Daughter of Dr. Christian will premier in the Andrew Lloyd Weber Musical, "The Woman in White" on 17 Nov 05 at the Marquis Theatre in New York City. Angela originated the Title Role of Ann Catherick, "The Woman In White" at the Palace Theatre in London to great acclaim in July 2004, winning the Best Supporting Actress in a New Musical from the Theatregoers Choice Awards.
