From Dr. Christian "The 4 Basics of Skin Care" |
 |

During the initial Diamond
Microdermabrasion and Javani Procedure I perform on everyone, there is included a
narrative about the importance of keeping our skin hydrated
and the role
collagen plays. I discuss how best to protect and maintain
collagen and the 4 Basic Steps
of Skin Care. I have created a web page which details
these 4 Basic Steps and products we recommend. Healthy skin
is an integral aspect of the Inside Outside Way of Life!!
The 4 Basic
Steps of Skin Care! |
Virtually all of Obesity of last 30 Years related to
Overeating, not lack of Exercise. |
 |

From Reuters: "Blame the
refrigerator rather than the gym for Americans' ever-expanding
waistlines. A new study presented at the European Congress on Obesity
shows that overeating alone can account for the obesity epidemic in
America.
Researchers say that until
now no one has quantified the contributions of overeating and decreases
in physical activity to the rise in obesity in America since the 1970s.
"There have been a lot of
assumptions that both reduced physical activity and increased energy
intake have been major drivers of the obesity epidemic," says researcher
Boyd Swinburn, Director of the World Health Organization Collaborating
Centre for Obesity Prevention."
This study demonstrates that
the weight gain in the American population seems to be virtually all
explained by eating more calories. It appears that changes in physical
activity played a minimal role. From a public policy perspective,
expectations regarding what can be achieved with exercise need to be
lowered and emphasis should be shifted toward encouraging people to eat
less."

Great Article about Fish Oil, We
may not run out after all!! |
 |

This article at msnbc.com is one of
the best summaries of the benefits of fish oil and how, through new
research, it is being made into a powder which can be added to virtually
every food product. Turns out we may not need to worry also about
a fish oil scarcity after all!
Have you ever heard of Engraullis Ringlens, the Peruvian Anchovy??
It is the source of much of our Fish Oil and then there is the Antarctic
Krill which is the largest and most successful biomass and animal
species in the world, another great source of Omega 3's.
Want to live longer? You Need this
nutrient!"

Loose
weight and save the planet: Article, "Population adiposity and climate
change" |

|
From
Reuters: Overweight people eat more than
thin people and are more likely to travel by
car, making excess body weight doubly bad for
the environment, according to a study from the
London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
"When it comes to
food consumption, moving about in a heavy body
is like driving around in a gas guzzler," and
food production is a major source of greenhouse
gases, researchers Phil Edwards and Ian Roberts
wrote in their study, published in the
International Journal of Epidemiology.

Staying
Fit after Marathon days are over |
 |
From NPR Radio: "Retired Navy Capt.
Howard Stoodley has run dozens of marathons in his 73
years. He has what he calls an "I love me" wall: a
display of photos and mementos of his days as a pilot
and his running accomplishments. He points to himself in
a photo of the 1979 Boston Marathon, which he finished
in three hours and 12 minutes. I did 47 marathons,
103 triathlons and many other races — I used to be a
pretty dedicated runner, 'til my knees gave out."
Stoodley says he probably should have cut
back sooner. But he loved it....."
So he turned to resistance bands tied
to doorknobs.

Day, a Day to Remember fallen Comrades |

|
"The 30th day of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with
flowers or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense
of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in
almost every city, village, and hamlet church-yard in the land. In this
observance no form of ceremony is prescribed, but posts and comrades will in
their own way arrange such fitting services and testimonials of respect as
circumstances may permit." Read the complete text of the original order at:
